Character Foundation
The bedrock of character — understanding the framework, the wheel, and the foundational principles that connect all dimensions into a unified practice.
What It Means
Strength of character is made up of a set of human excellences that support a habit of good judgment and decision-making, elevating sustained excellence and well-being.
Character in Action
The Character Approach
- Understands that character is practiced, not possessed
- Recognizes that every dimension matters — when one is underdeveloped, it can become a vice
- Uses the Character Wheel to build a shared language of character
- Commits to daily practice as the path to growth
The Character Wheel
We use the Character Wheel to build a shared language of character and keep sight of the full set of strengths we all need. Each dimension matters — when one is underdeveloped, or strong but unsupported by others, it can become a vice, undermining judgment and the initiatives that matter most.
All virtues operate between two vices: deficient (under-developed) or excess (strong but unsupported by other behaviours).
